What are the rules of the squash sport?
1. Serve action
The act of serving starts when the server throws the ball to the ground and hits the ball before it bounces twice. The action must be consistent. After the ball is hit, it should hit the front wall first. Then fall directly or through a side wall to the floor behind the back service line, and shall not touch the back service line.
2. Ready to catch the ball
After the referee announces the score or “second serve”. The server can only serve when he sees that the receiver is ready to receive the ball.
3. Procrastination
The 10-second rule applies to both the server and the receiver. That is to say, both parties have the responsibility to be ready to serve and receive the serve within 10 seconds after the referee’s announcement. Those who delay the serve for more than 10 seconds lose the right to serve. The receiver delays for more than 10 seconds. The receiver loses 1 point.
4. Doubles serve
Before each game, both sides shall inform the referee of the order of their serving. And observe this order throughout the game. Only one person on the opening team of each game can serve. After his mistake, both sides have the right to serve. The server’s partner should stand in the doubles service area with his back to the side wall and move out when the ball crosses the back line of service. Otherwise, the server loses the right to serve.
