What are the serve rules for singles badminton?
Game scoring
1. Each game adopts a three-game two-win system.
2. Before the start of the game, the players of both sides determine which side will choose to serve first or second by tossing a coin.
3. The first party to score 21 points wins the competition.
4. If the score between the two sides is 20 to 20, the winning side must surpass the opponent by 2 points to win.
5. If the score between the two sides is 29 to 29, the side that gets the 30th point first wins.
Singles serve rules
1. When the server’s score is 0 or an even number, both players shall serve or receive the serve in their respective right serving courts; when the server’s score is odd, both players shall serve or receive the serve in their respective left serving courts .
2. In the case of “rematch”, the server shall stand based on the total points scored in the round.
3. After the ball is delivered, the server and the receiver alternately hit each other until “violation” or “dead ball”.
4. If the receiver violates the law or the ball hits the ground in the receiver’s court and the ball is dead, the server will get one point. Subsequently, the server will serve from another service court.
5. If the server violates the law or the ball hits the ground in the server’s court and the ball is dead, the server loses the right to serve and the opponent scores one point and gets the right to serve.
