What is squash unauthorised serve?
The server must stand in the serving area, the ball and foot cannot cross the line, but the foot can step on the line. The ball may not cross the starting area before the line of service after the ball has flown. The server must wait for the referee to announce the score or “second serve” before starting to serve. The following serves are all unauthorised serve:
1. Two consecutive missed services.
2. Failure to serve within 10 seconds as required.
3. Leak the ball. Throw the ball without hitting the ball, or touch the ball with other parts of the body, such as clothes, arms, or bounce the ball more than twice.
4. The ball hits someone. The ball bounces back from the front wall and hits the server or racket. The server or his partner grabs or stops the ball.
5. Fake action. In the course of the serve, the server uses a fake move, or the hitting action is inconsistent.
6. Illegal batting. Hit the ball twice, hold the ball with the racket, or hit the ball with the handle.
7. Non-front wall serve. When serving, the ball hits the sidewall, ceiling or ground first.
8. Corner serve. When serving, the ball hits the angle between the side wall and the front wall, or the angle between the ceiling and the front wall, or the angle between the ground and the front wall.
9. Serve illegally. In doubles, when one party violates the order of serving, the scores obtained will be cancelled and the serve will be judged as disqualified.
10. The ball hits the partner. The ball bounced back from the front wall and hit the partner standing outside the doubles zone.
